The Story

Footnote #1 - A Journal For Artistic Exchange

Footnote is a new journal dedicated to fostering artistic exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue. Each issue invites writers, photographers, and artists from around the world to creatively respond to a central text, building vibrant connections across disciplines.

The debut issue features poet and novelist A.K. Blakemore’s evocative story Peg, a hallucinatory exploration of mutation and decay that inspires a dynamic and diverse range of responses. From Jack Davison’s photographic meditations on transformation and the occult to Nam Le’s poetic reimagining of a classical descent to the underworld, contributors delve into the rich, visceral themes of Blakemore’s text.

Featuring: Sarah Blais, Joe Cruz, Brian Dillon, Eley Williams, Eduard Sánchez Ribot, John Sunyer, Feargal Sharkey, Kevin Brazil, Joe Gamble, Daniel Benson, Mattia Balsamini, 'Pemi Aguda and more.
