‘Beauty is you’

i-D’s first dedicated beauty publication is a glossy large-format zine with a flip cover—open via popstar Tyla for women’s beauty, or via model Shaid for the men’s section.

Editor-in-chief Thom Bettridge has declared the zine a manifesto, telling Business of Fashion that, ‘Beauty has always been a part of i-D’s DNA, but there was never a dedicated platform for it. Inside, the classic i-D straight-up photo style is repurposed for life-size close-ups of faces (shot by Francesc Planes), Aidan Zamiri shoots the men, and you can read a series of six Facetime interviews with a selection of people ranging from Hayley Williams to Martha Stewart. It’s big, bright and bold, and is a strong announcement for i-D’s move into the beauty space in print and online.

There’s a choice of Tyla covers, each has the same Shaid cover on the reverse.
